Trusting in brand management: Brand Bowl Vienna in March 2023

«TRUSTED BRANDS: How much trust does the future need?» was the theme of the Brand Bowl Vienna. On March 9, 2023, Brand Club members and brand enthusiasts gathered at the designforum Vienna in the Museum Quarter – on the last day of the exhibition «The O and the A – Otl Aicher: thinking from the doing. A look back and forward».

The event was opened with an introduction by Brand Club board members Charlotte Hager and Oliver Schmitt. Following a stimulating and very open presentation by Philipp Hagenauer, Head of Brand at gurkerl.at, then it went straight into the Brand Bowl. The open and honest input from all participants revealed:

  • Brand processes take place at all levels.
  • In-depth discussion on employer branding and brand
  • Brand management should not only be the boss's responsibility, but should involve all employees.
  • Customer centricity as a prerequisite for brand management

The bowl format provides a framework for structured discussion: Participants listen in the outer circle, while those in the inner circle – the fishbowl – discuss. One chair in the inner circle must always remain empty, and participants are free to move between the outside and inside at any time. This dynamic setting fostered interesting ideas and conversations – perspectives, experiences, and recommendations were actively shared.

Over a glass of wine from Domaine Pöttelsdorf, a Almdudler or Ottakringer beer The conversation continued even after the bowl was served. The participants were catered for by Irmgard Querfeld and Men.
